How much did that setup cost you? Its a good number.. Saleen root blowers put out about that much.. I don't understand all the BS replies.. Thats a great supercharger for around town drivability.. Loads of torque downlow.... I guess everyone is just caught up in the hype of the Vortech Mongoose kits.. Different blowers guys.. Roots are great for around town.. If you want blistering quarter mile times, then go w/ a Vortech.. However! From the looks of the Mongoose kits, most of the drivers cannot even handle the power. I run faster in my Mach nearly stock then some of these guys on this board with the Cobra killer setup (not knocking the setup, but the the piss poor drivers that put these blowers on and thinking they're hots*** and pulling mid 13's)..

I thought were talking about the allen supercharger?? where did the mongoose kit come up?

And how can you expect someone that's a "piss poor driver" to run a good time?

WRXracer,

As long as your happy with your combo that's all that matters.

Like any car with power it takes practice to learn how to drive it and most of the guys throw the kit on stock cars w/ stock tires w/o alot of track experience. You put all those factors together and you get low 13's. You get a little experience under your belt and throw on some good rubber and a decent suspension and your in the low 12's.

I hate to trounce in on your thread, WRXRacer, because I think you have a great setup which is alot of fun on the street or track but I hate people that say stuff like this w/o understanding the whole story. Once again I apologize for butting in on your thread.

it cost me about 2500 all together.. and all this BS about how a vortech with 400 RWHP doesnt mean $hit to me.. yes I only make 318 RWHP but I can run a 12.5 with it.. what can you run with your 9 PSI vortech..

BFD, Theres a guy on www.imboc.com that has never had the valve covers of his '01 and is running a 12.82 NA with only 3.90 gears and street tires. THAT is impressive. Your 12.5 is what is too be expected, but nothing phenominal. I don't mean to bash your ride (you're a lot quicker and more powerful than me in my car) but you must understand how must people on Stangnet behave. This place seems to have a younger and less educated general population than some of the 2-3 other mesasage boards I have viewed in the past. Expect to get bashed and trash-talked. It seems that's the rule in here. Whatever happend to people with similar tastes in rides helping eachother out insted of running their mouths (fingertips)?

Good luck with your future mods. Keep dropping those ET's and spank some '03 Snakes. 2V's have much more potential than people think (even if I still think your numbers seem a little low for anything V8 with a blower).
