ok im at the endd of the rope. Im tired of havin no car soooo i was wonderin what i would have to do to get an n/a shortblock to work with my turbo. I have a complete n/a motor and a complete turbo motor. I know that i wont be able to run much boost but some is better than none right?i have not been able to find turbo pistons or a shortblock anywhere ( j/y, classifieds, ebay, u name it i prob looked) and im a lil strapped 4 cash right now. I would love to find a shortblock though. but like i said how do i make it work?. Seems likethe only option i have at this point. Thanks

why not make a running NA car?
You can put the turbo on the NA engine if you run the turbo computer and such. Just be sure to retard the timing to 0* before you touch the gas and it will last a while anyway. At least until something happens... like a blown wastegate, popping the vacume hose off the fpr, a bad tank of gas, a passanger sneezes, ect.

You say you have a complete turbo motor...why not drop it in and go?

well

the turbo motors shortblock is gone i beleive. the # 2&3 pistons had chunks missin chunks off the top of them and # 3 cylinder wall has a slight groove in it so i dunno what im gonna do the head and turbo are in what looks to be damn good shape, i just need the bottom end from a turbo motor and ill b fine but thats turnin out to be very hard at the moment

switch out the blocks, go get rods and pistons, build teh turbo motor and go

look in a racer walsh, jegs, or summit catolog. They will all have exactly what you need. All of their support departments are very helpful. Is the car the motor is going into, N/A or turbo? If its a turbo car, Personally,i would tear down the turbo block and have it checked out. For the cost of a bore job, 4 new forged pistons, gaskets and bearings your up and running again. If you can't afford that, or the car is an N/A car, just stick with the n/a motor. You'll be able to save up the cash for a total swap later on that way.

Im just not fond of drilling holes into my oil pan, and running a turbo with cast pistons. I know it can be done, and most super chargers require you to tap a hole into the oil pan, I just dont like it.
