High Idle on startup

So I have a 93 mustang (stock motor)and I have problem when I start my car it like to idle up to 2500 to 3000 rpm. I have read through the first 4 or 5 pages in the surging idle checklist. From that i have cleaned the salt and pepper shakers and i cleaned out the IAC and that helped a little bit.

I don't think that I have the same problem as a surging idle because mine is just on start up. My car will idle down to around 700

Any help would be appreciated

Have you done the set base idle procedure in the Surging Idle Checklist?

Set base idle, run for few days then check codes

ok I will set the base idle and print off the surging idle checklist and go through it this weekend

i was told once that if your timing is set to high it can cause that. so you might want to check the timing ?
