I installed a new CAI ....homebrew ebay.....and it hisses like crazy....any ideas??? Plus the throttle wont come back down fast enough...it stays up at 1000 rpm no matter what I do....

CAI can give false reading to MAF and cause some issues. Easy fix, go back to the stock box..there is no advantage to an aftermarket CAI over the stock box with a K&N panel filter ...no advantage at all. That thing would look great on EBAY

did you try one of my new CAI's (aka Hissin's CAI)?

it sounds like you have a loose connection - the manifold vac is making the sucking noise.

Yeah when I seen the title I got the ole "hissin50" lightbulb lite up as well

Anyways...lol...check for your connections at the throttle body and MAF...you could have some unmetered air being sucked in (after the MAF)...

You will probably hear a slight whistling or hollow type sound with the addition of a cold air intake...it doesn't absorb sound as well as the factory rubber box. See if you can fix your problems before swapping back to the factory rubber box...

I figured I would see HISSIN.......I finished it in the dark soo....It may be that stupid vacuum line to the charcoal canister....

Check all your vac lines and everywhere the CAI connects to anything (i.e. air filter,TB,MAF)

My friends 347 Canfield headed 95 has a BBK Fender Mount CAI, and it sounds like it's going to fuggin' suck the fender in! Sounds awesome!

Just check the all the connections to make sure everything is tight. I've also heard that moving the MAF around (Like turning the sensor upside down or offset) helps with idle and drivablilty problems with cai's.

upon further inspection I found that its the throttle body thats whistling.....I took off the CAI and inspected the TB and it looks like the throttle plate was removed and installed once....Its a BBK 65mm ....WEIRD...

Some lower quality throttle bodies can give off a whistle and you might want to check your TPS which could be why your car is idling a bit higher. It would also be a good idea to clean out your IAC to start getting rid of some possible variables...

With the blade possibly being removed it may have not been installed right and the throttle angle could have been changed

Soo.... This swap meet throttle body must have been the unfortunate last object in the way of a nitrous burp.....I took the TB off and the noise went away immediately.....soo much for the variables..I had my new cold air installed up to my 65mm tb and matched egr spacer. I even ported the tb openening on the intake to perfectly match the egr spacer and now I have my stocke TB back on.....BUMMER. I took apart the 65mm and put the throttle plate on the table and its shaped like a pringle. Didnt see this before. got a new MAC one from EBay (polished too) for 45 bucks on the way..
