I think the information you'd like is who owned your car and where it was and when, right? Services like the Marti report are mostly giving out info like what your car came with and how many Mustangs were built with that option. If you want to know information like past owners and who bought the car new, I really don't think there's much help out there. You'll have to do your own detective work. You can try contacting the person you bought it from, then talking to the person they bought it from, and so on but as cars age that trail gets colder and harder to follow. For instance, I bought a '65 fastback in '89 or '90 from a guy who only owned it three weeks before he died of a heart attack. His family has since moved so how do I find out who he bought it from? I kept the car for about 4 years and sold it to a friend who moved away and the last I heard the car is in the SF bay area, about 5 hours south of here. Same as my current '68 fastback which I bought from a 93 year old lady who told me she bought it new. But here son-in-law told me the car was about 6 months old when she bought it from her daughter (his wife) who bought it new. The was very, very original when I bought it and the original owners manual had both the salesmans name stamped in it, the dealership in San Leandro where it was sold, the date it was sold and the original owners name, and it wasn't a ladies name. So who really bought the car new? I could either be the second owner, the third or the fourth, depending on which version I believe. Time blurs people's memory as it applies to cars and each of the people I spoke to when I bought the car had a different version of who owned the car first. The fact is unless you get extremely lucky and are a lot more persistant than I could ever be, you may never know the lineage of your car.
