Hey Guys,

I just noticed that the hood on my 03 GT is misaligned. The gap from the left edge of the hood and the fender on the passenger side is slightly larger than the gap from the right edge of the hood and the drive side fender. Is there a way that I can adjust this, is there a way that it can be adjusted from side to side? or is this something that I can have the dealer adjust. I much rather adjust this myself being that I recently had a strut tower brace installed and lowered the car and I don't want the dealer giving me any crap about my mods. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

I removed my hood for my KB install and when I put it back on, I just pretty much hand tightened it, and then closed the hood. It took a couple of times readjusting it to get it perfect again. I can't remember if there was enough play in it though to move it side to side. Just loosen the bolts a little and then keep re-adjusting and tightening until you are satisfied with it. Obviously when you are done tighten them all the way. If that doesn't work then you might just have to take it to the dealership.

Thanks, for the response MT.

Anymore suggestions out there? Where exactly are the adjustment points on the hood?

I just loosened the 4 bolts (2 on each side) that hold the hood to the hinges.

I tried loosening the 4 bolts that hold the hood (2 on each side), but the hood would not move either left or right. Do I have to actually take off these bolts or can I just loosen them? This is driving me nuts. Anybody care to help.

I've noticed the same problem on mine. Any tips on equalizing the gap on both sides. Do you remove the hood? I've tried loosening the bolts on the hinges and moving the hood, that didn't seem to work.

I had my hood off and put it back on with having to adjust it at all. As I recall, there wasn't much, if any, adjustment (like there was with older cars). Sorry, I know this might not be much help (neither is that mustangworld link). But you're not crazy...there isn't much to adjust.

This problem is common. I remember when I bought mine in 2001. I was upset over the gap. I tires to align it but never got it perfect. I is hard becasue of no side to side adjustment. I just live with it now. FORD quality...job none!
