hood gap fix?

ok i have an 87 GT with 160,000+ miles and my front end is suffering from the all to common fox hood gap problem (a large space between bottom of the hood and top of the bumperr) .....how do i go about fixing it?

ask mob...he said he has tried but nothing seems to fix his. I would think the 2 hood coushins can be lowered to drop the hood lower but maby you need to adjust the latch also

it depends on how big of a gap... you might get away with not adjusting the latch if its only a small gap. but if the hood is even with the fenders just leave it alone. since then the gap will be fixed, but the hood will be lower then the fenders.

true it could be the bumper hanging a little low

i have a decent hood gap. my front bump is out of alignment. when i buckle down and do the body work me and my dad are going to take the whole front clip off and tweak it and get it lined up perfectly.

like said above if u still have a gap and your hood is flush with the fenders. then your bumper is to blame.

the bumper used to sag on my gt as well.
