if memory serves the recall was only for cars that were involved in accidents.the adhesive they used on the hoods would seperate at high speeds only if the car was hit somewhere, didnt have to be the front just anywhere.i never took mine in cuz it was never involved in an accident.

I remember getting the letter, but when I went in to get all the recalls done. I dont think they did the hood thing. My ebrake is now worse than before, the button sucks now and sticks in the pushed position after the recal though. they fixed the wire under the seat thing. They said I was not in the range for the fan recal deal, and I never saw them do work to the hood.

yeah, well it its a fact of getting it from happening on my car, since it has already happened. the fiberglass part of the hood cracked and it pressed up in the front... I wondered where that came from cause it happened randomly after i got off the freeway.

Speaking of, I just got a recall for the cruise control buttons on my 97 Expy. It seems that they can light on fire with the truck running, or just sitting there in the middle of the night

Its not the buttons, its the brake switch that turns off the cruise control when you hit the brakes. Basically after time, brake fluid can eat through the membrane or something like that, and being that the wires going to the switch are always hot, can heat up and catch fire if it does leak through. Ford's fix on their recall released 9/07? As someone said above, put a fuse between the switch and the harness.
