hey guys,

i just got my stang back from the shop after a month and a half. i wrecked the front end in an accident, and the engine was supposedly fine.

insurance decided to fix it, so, after waiting all this time, i just got it back an hour ago. it ran fine for the 15 minutes i drove it for, and sounded AMAZING with the MRT catted H with the flowmasters. but after i parked it at my house and it sat for about 30 minutes, i went to start it up to go for a long awaited cruise. to my surprise, the whole car shook as it idled horribly. i let it try and calm down for a minute, but it only got worse. i started it up another 4 or 5 times and the same problem each time. then, on the 6th try, it idled for less than 10 seconds and stalled. now, it wont idle for 2 seconds without stalling and the engine light comes on.

the shop said it ran fine before the h pipe was installed, so i want to rule out that the engine infact, **** the bed in the accident. he mentioned that it sounded like an injector problem. i did smell a little gas, which i heard is normal with hpipes, but im not sure now.

any idea how to correct this if it is infact the mrt causing the issue? the only mods i have are the flow 40s and the h pipe, no other mods at all, not even a drop in filter.

the shop is VERY reputable, they know their stuff and are very anal about what they give the customer. i know he sent the hpipe install to mieneke though. i did get o2 sensor extensions. im going to check to make sure they connected those.

im so upset, the car looks so damn hot with the new hood and bumper, and it sounded amazing when it started. now i have a car i cant drive sitting staring at me with the possibility of MORE time stuck in a shop.

I'd make sure the front o2 sensors and connected, and plugged in. Get the code(s) read, and that will help us determine a fix.

well, it wont even start anymore, and i dont have a tuner to get the codes. ill have to set up a tow next week when places open again (memorial day weekend, everyplace is closed).

the shop called me up, and said the detailer he sent it to may have gotten the wires wet when they detailed the engine.

if its something simple, id try to fix it myself. otherwise, i have to wait til next weekend and get it fixed.

found the problem.

the fuel cutoff switch in the trunk was being jumped out. when i got home, and cleaned up the trunk, i must have knocked it loose, thus not sending fuel to the engine, causing this headache.

it dawned on me when my father mentioned something about the fuel being cut off somewhere, i went back to the trunk, and sure enough, the jumper was off. i guess the shop needed to jump it out for some reason, and never fixed it. i just threw the jumper away, plugged it in, disconnected/reconnected the battery to get rid of the engine light, and it runs like a champ again!
