lol

Anyone have any opinions when it comes to sizing of Intercooler piping?

I'm picking up my Intercooler on saturday and dude has a piping kit too, I believe it's 2.5". I can't find much online at the moment to direct me towards 2.5" or bigger (3"?)

Usually "bigger is better" , but with bigger piping, wouldn't the velocity of the air decrease to some extent? Perhaps losing some low-end torque?

fyi - intercooler is for a Vortech S-trim

Thanks

i believe the most common is 3" pipe. that is what i am running also. i dont really think it will make that big a difference either way with the power levels that we are at. if you can get a good deal on the 2 1/2" pipe then i dont really see an issue, but i am not an expert by any means when it comes to velocity of air and all that jazz.

Mine is stock 3". I would think it is probably worth a couple horses over 2.5 but I have never seen any dyno info to back this up.

im running 3" piping that came with my paxton intercooler. I talked to AFM when i was buying my boost pipe from them and they said that before the supercharger is where piping size matters, after it, its negligible. So i stuck with the 3" piping.
