I am doing a feul pump swap and new sending unit. I have 5 to 8 gal of feul left in tank and would like to pump out about 5 more gal to make dropping the tank a little easier.

I have tried jumping the feul pump test to connecter to a ground and I can not get the feul pump to run. It will only run a few seconds with the cycle of the key like it normaly does. To get it to run do I have to have key on or off? And the ground, does it jump to the computer test port ground or just a chassis ground?

I've read jrichker's post on tricking the feul pump to run but, I must not be doing the right majic because it is not working!

Any one know how to do this?

I went back and jumped feul pump test port to Computer ground and then turned ignition key to run (just like you would to run codes) and the feul pump ran, and now gas tank is empty! Majic! Thanks again to one of jrichker's earlier posts for info on how to run pump. He is Stangnets favorite tool!
