I tore down the old 5.0 and am now wondering how to remove the wrist pin to separate the rod from the piston. I expected to find a snap ring, but there's nothing there.
Factory rods are a press fit wrist pin. You can do it with a torch, but I've never liked that method because you run the risk of weakening the rod. Your other options are to have them pressed off, or to use a vise and socket/pipe that's slightly smaller in diameter to press them off yourself.

Thanks, that's what I eventually concluded. I was going to use a torch but since you pointed out it can weaken the rod, I'll just have them pressed out. Thanks for the tip
