How do you all think this exhaust will sound?

Hey guys, I've been trying to piece out my first exhaust system and I've finally narrowed it down. Any ideas how it will sound? I tried to put emphasis on quiet idle, hardly any drone at the 3k mark, but f'in SCREAMS at WOT.

-BBK 1 5/8 long tube headers
-X pipe (unsure if I want Dr. Gas or UPR or VRS. Honestly have no idea what the differences are)
-Spintech Sportsman Mufflers

Florida has no emissions so I won't be running cats.

So what do you all think? I'm trying to avoid going the traditional "flows and h pipe" route because everyone and their baby mommas' cousins pet dog has that setup.

Any responses would be great, thanks!

Should sound good. I have LTs, off road X, and Spintech Pro Streets (I guess louder than the Sportsmans). I havent driven the car on the street yet, but from idle, revving, and up and down my road it sounds pretty good. Quieter then I wanted, but good nonetheless.

LT's will kinda hurt the sound volume - some good shorties would be an overall better choice - but otherwise it should sound pretty decent.

Down low it will be quieter with LTs, but up top they are louder than shorties which sounds like what you want!

Well not that it's a bad thing, I just like being different. Same reason I didn't buy Cobra R's when I was rim shopping.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I forgot to mention in my first post but I WILL be running this setup WITH tailpipes. That should make it sound even better correct?

That being said, I have two questions.

1. If I were to get the 3 listed parts in my orginal post, could I install this WITHOUT welding? I'm sure welding will ensure a better connection but I don't have a welder with me and I don't want to pay someone to slap something in I can do myself in. So basically, can I just install it without welding, then take it down to an exhaust shop and have them just weld it up?

2. Lastly, since I know I'm definitely getting the BBK LT's what do I need for them? O2 extension wires? Some type of MIL pieces to ensure my check engine light doesn't come on? Anyone know what the part number of those two parts are and approx. how much they would run?

Get the 02 extensions, they arent expensive and can be found at Mustangs Unlimited, I am positive (and probably tons of other places). As far as welding goes, it is not necessary. I have mine only bolted in to remove and install easily.

I have had the sportsman and pro streets on my car with long tubes/ shortys, X a and H pipe. I am in the process of buying a new set of the sportsman side exit with the long tubes. The sportsman sounds like a NSACAR at idle and has a lot of crackle an pop on downshifts, sounds like a IMSA car with the long tubes and about the same with the shorty headers, but reduced a little. The pro street sound great to, but in the Dump form they will beat you on long trips.

I just looked at Mustangs Unlimited and found this. Is this the right one to get?

How hard is it to bolt exhaust in? How exactly does it get bolted in the first place? Just regular bolts and nuts, nothing fancy? Lastly, the Dr. Gas X has 3 or more pieces I believe. Can I bolt each and every piece together then?

Im still trying to find a decent vid of a stang with Sportsmans...found a bunch with prostreets and i realllllllly like them. I just got a deal on 3in sportsmans that i cant pass up.

I'm torn between Pro Streets and Loudmouths....i'm pretty sure i'm going to go with the PS's since i've never heard a resonator style muffler that i liked, even though the vids i've seen of them sounded great, something tells me in person and in the car will be a different story.

I'm not sure how set you are on BBK LTs but when I had mine they hung down a lot more than others. There are some posts on here saying the same thing. I DESTROYED mine on a speed bump that I used to be over to go over just fine with the factory exhaust. My Macs are up a lot higher and from what I hear, other brands are tucked up a little more, too. My fault for not taking it easier over the speed bumps until I checked clearance a little better. I have a little more room with the Macs, they hang down about as much as the factory stuff did.

Nobody is welding my damn exhaust together I can tell you that. The biggest pains in the ass of doing exhaust is getting the old out (applies less if at all if the exhaust has been done after factory) and getting it leak free with no rattles while keeping the tips straight. Pull all your exhaust off, mount your headers, do your x, then do your catback. Get the tips lined up, tighten it down, and shake the pipes to see if they will rattle against the car. Adjust if need be, then start up, check for leaks, then check for rattles by driving.

I think its sounds badass..thanks for finally posting that 25th.....stang loks damn good too. I got a deal on some 3in Sportsmans dumps so im going to try those. Going with equal lenth shorties and not sure on a x-pipe or h-pipe yet. Both will be off road though

Thanks, yeah the car makes some noise, but I LOVE the sound from 2500 or so until 3000... Gets real raspy and loud.
