you will generally hear a groaning sound that fluctuates with vehicle speed. it will become more pronounced the faster you go. also if you can grab the top and bottom of your wheels and move them then its time for bearings.

Also if you hear little squeaking sounds when going slowly over bumps it could be, among many other things, wheel bearings.

its amazing how often i can do that at work. customers dont believe me so i take them and do it in front of them. the other good one is to use a prybar under the tire of like a dodge dakota or durange to get teh upper ball joint, ive seen some move over 1.5"

Sounds like your wheel bearings are shot.I would replace
them soon because they will only get worse as time go's
on.

If you get groaning, squeeking,or noises that fluctuate with
the vehicles speed your wheel bearing are most likely going
bad.In that case I would replace them soon.

Why would a '04 GT already need the bearings replaced.A little hard are we.
If bearings are going bad, like most stated already!!

Even tho it's '04, I got it in Sept '03 and it's got 53K miles.

I've gone thru some of this before. With 53000 on her what is the condition of your tires? My car "whines" some and we believe the noise is coming from "cupped" tires. Check them out first and go from there. Pearl02.

Tires are in good shape. I got new ones @ 30K with 400 treadwear rating. They still got lots of good tread.

I'm hearing some whining and sometimes a wierd noise starting off. In a couple of weeks, I'm gonna take it to the shop and have them take a look.
