I need to change the instrument panel lights on a 69 Mustang. How do you get the panel out to replace them??

Remove the dash pad which has screws everywhere, three on top a few in the center and possibly a couple on the ends. Also the screws that are on the top of the clock panel and instrument cluster need to be removed before removing the dash pad. Once the pad is removed, there will be two screws at the top rear of the cluster (metal housing to windshield brace), one on each side of the cluster, and a few along the bottom. Once all the screws are removed the housing should be able to be slid out. It will only go a few inches cause the speedo cable and wiring is attached. Unclip the wiring connector by squeezing the ends. This will provide more room to slide the cluster out to get to the speedo cable. Press the button, push in and pull out and the cable will be removed. Install is the exact reverse. Major PIA to get to the bulbs

All light bulbs can be changed if you lay on the floor and put your arm up behind the panel. You'll feel the plastic sockets that hold the bulbs. No need to remove the dashboard.

Scott Drake makes repro lenses now that really help clean things up. Use the Sylvania 2825s. They are 5w instead of 3w, and the extra brightness really helps.

Or do the white face indiglo gauges like i did from mustang depot They are a little pricey at about $100 or so but VERY cool looking, very clean install, very easy (if ya have taken the cluster apart before) and i had never even had my dash off before, im 19, and i had no trouble getting them in
Is there a website to scott drake? i need to purchese the lenses, mine are REALLY bad and you can tell in the pics
