The torque values on the acc brackets to the heads is 22-30 lb-ft on the 3/8" bolts and 44-60 on the 7/16" bolts. I have AFR165's and the instruction sheet says to snug all bolts into it 'hand tight'. Now, hand tight is way less than 44 lb-ft. Just how tight should I tighten these to?

How tight did you tighten yours to?

I always tighten them pretty good... Use some anti-sieze on them or you'll have a hard time getting them back out.

What's 'pretty good'? How many lb-ft would you estimate that to be? I'm looking for a number here to get an idea how much to take these to.

Update for those who care and searchers later:

I ended up taking these to the min. torque values listed - 22 for the 3/8 and 44 for the 7/16 with clean threads and anti-seize.

Rick

I snugged them down by hand to about half the amount I would have gone if the heads were iron.

I put a thin coat of anti-seize on the steel bracket surface that would be next to the aluminum head also.
