how to change auto to manual

Hi,

I've been thinking about this for very long time and since I wasn't able to purchase one, i would like to change my trans from auto to manual on a 02 gt vert.

I was wondering what are the parts and costs that i need to get for it? I already know that the car comes with space for the manual clutch and what not to put, but wanted to see how long it would take to install.

Hey man if you haven't invested to much money on your car already and all you want to do is go with a stock tremec 3650 the cheapest and most efficient way to do this would prob be to trade your car for another 5 speed since auto's are worth more you should be able to do this reasonably. Even you loose 1000k that is still less than what it would cost to swap. now if you are goimg to swap out your go with the T-56 6 speed . Where are you planning on getting the tranny, cause you need to be carefull with some of these 3650 they are having some probs. Well good luck man

there are some companies even ford dealerships that actually sell kits for this. without labor most of them with a new tranny will run you about $2400~ish.

Ive been thinking about that but 2-3 grand can get me alot of parts and I could always just waste $200 on a MVB

2-3 grand? mother... I'd rather spend it on a blower.

I can't do a trade in, cuz I don't think I'll get good enuf money out of my 02 gt vert. some old lady crashed into my rear and caused some frame damage...

oh well, i guess I'm paying for my impatience I guess. I just couldn't wait for manual vert for 2-3months when i bought it few years ago.

You can get a Manual Valve body which lets you control the shifts of the car. With it YOU have to do every gear change, like a standard w/o a clutch
