My '86 has an annoying problem. The little latch that fits onto the clutch pedal assembly keeps popping off after driving the car. So before I start the car, I almost always have to reach down and put it back on. There seems to be no way to keep it on. I would think a nut would thread on that post it slides onto, but there are no threads and it's really tough to get to, if I wanted to do any type of fixing to it.

What I would rather do is disable the thing entirely. Has anyone done this? What do I need to do? I'm sick of having to start my car like that everyday...

If it has 2 wires going to it, cut them and make a jumper wire to fool the switch into thinking the switch is always triggered.
