My T5 is giving me some problems and I'm pretty sure the 5th gear synchro is bad. Is this a job a somewhat mechanically inclined schmuck can do or is this task better left to the experts?? Thanks.

LEAVE IT TO THE EXPERTS! I tried to rebuild mine and I couldnt even get the freakin cover off without messing up the shift forks. There is so much crap goin on in there its scary!

I want to rebuild mine also. I've heard it is bad and I've heard it is easy, so I don't know. I'm researching g-forces right now. I may buy the kit and then pay a few hundred to get it assembled

I had a pro do mine. $593 later and I get a new 2nd gear, 5th gear, 1-2 shift forks, speedo gear and associated little parts. If you have no tranny experience Id leave it up to the pros.

Here is mine when they took it apart.
