This storm is heading towards N.O, and as of 8AM this morning, turned into a category 5.

Just wanted to let anyone within 100 miles of the anticipated strike zone to heed any warnings/advice from the media or local officials.

THIS IS NOT A STORM TO TOY WITH!!!

This serious $hit, and there will be scores of billions in damage for sure.

Pack up, get out, be careful, stay safe, and God speed.

yes RC your right its gonna be bad really bad. See i'm in north alabama and we never have to worry bout the hurricanes we just get the crazy storms that pop up everywhere when they head north. Well it will be here tuesday possibly. Only the major hurricanes make it up here and cause damage . They are already saying here that the storms we will get are gonna be some of the worst if it still makes its path this way.
RC we are lucky we dont get the tremendous winds yall get down there. As for the hail storms flooding and tornados we get that.
Just hope everyone is careful and makes it safely through this.

Holy crap. That is going to beat the snot out of New Orleans. If it stays anywhere near the strength it's at right now, it's going to go right over the top of the levees. They say that with all the pumps under water, it may take several months to pump all the water out. Ouch. If I lived there, I'd be seriously thinking about a permanent change in residence after this...

It also looks like Biloxi is going to take a pretty good hit too -- I spent some time at Keesler AFB about ten years ago, so I've got all those airmen down there on my mind right now too. I hope they're all safely in shelters -- the base has never had a casulty in a shelter during any hurricane, so hopefully they'll ride this one out too.

Yeah thats huge. I just got back from a cruise. I had to stay an extra day at sea because the port of miami closed down friday. Then i stayed in boca raton untill today. There's tons of power outages and trees down there and it was only a category 1 when it hit south florida now its a 4 or 5..

Bye Bye New Orleans is all I can say. Being below sea level is not a good thing with a class 5 hurricane.

Very true. New Orleans and the surrounding area will be completely wiped out, no joke!! And anyone that stays there will be dead unless they are about 30 feet above the ground.

not sure if the land that the stadium is on is actually above sea level but think about this. Most of New Orleans is below sea level and whats worse afterward they will do like most places do and pump the water out elsewhere which makes the land sink even lower. If I was in that dome I would be getting the hell out of dodge right now!!!

Well, they stated how the seats are 7 stories high, "in case the water level begins to rise"

Looks like it went just a tiny bit east of New Orleans. Biloxi is probably getting beat up pretty good. Winds are back up to 145. I wonder if Keesler will have anything higher than a few feet left standing .
