2006 GT with auto trans. I have K&N Typhone CAI, Magnaflow X-pipe w/ high-flow cats, and Magnaflow mufflers. My Hypertech III tune (1) gives worse performance than stock with RPMs extended by 500 (beyond 6K redline) and each shift extended by 400; and, (2) with no RPM extensions, gives better performance (e.g., 0-60 time) but, it seems to me, no better or differrent than with the stock tune. What's up with this? Does the Hypertech III, in addition to the tune parameters the user selects, automatically add its own propriatary tune or is there no change from stock if no parameters are specifically selected?

Not many of us have used the Hypertech Power Programmer/Chips, you may want to direct this to where you got the product or try Xciteauto.com or RPMOutlet's tech support @ (281) 261-6244.

Good Luck.

Thanks. After talking to the Brenpeed folks, I ordered a SCT X-Calibrator 2 custom programer from them (I'll sell the Hypertech on ebay). I had thought that a 93 octane tune on the 2006 GT would produce about the same performance as an 87 tune (true with the Hypertech -- 1 HP difference); they convinced me otherwise. My expectation is that the new SCT X 2 will give me more -- and more perceptable -- performance than the Hypertech III. Anyone have any insight into this?

Agreed on the X-cal. Day and night to the performance gains and overall "seat of your pants feel" that can be achieved with a piggyback chip/tune type system.

Keep us advised and let us know how it works out for ya'.
