I am getting about 210 to a tank on my 2.3l n/a. i have recently changed the oil, spark plugs and spark plug wires. I need to change the air filter. what can i do?
Would the fuel pump have anything to do with this? I don't know too much about cars, so any suggestions would be great. I know that I should be getting better mileage than this. I have put a fuel injector cleaner in a tank of gas, but I didn't find that it helped too much. Although I did go about 20 more miles on that tank of gas. The first time I went only 200, after I added the cleaner, I went about 220 on a tank of gas. I was happy, but that is still below 20 miles to the gallon, and I don't have a gusling v8. Ugh!

Have you changed the fuel filter? Make sure you have put the boots of the wires all the way on to the plugs too I had one fall off before and she ran like crap.

Could be alot of things, I did a tuneup on my '88 when it was N/A and it made the car alot more peppy but gas milage still stayed the same. I only get about 210 out of my 4cyls too.

I am getting right at 22mpg with mostly in town driving. That is about 300miles with 2 gallons left in the tank.
pull for codes.
Put a voltmeter on the O2 sensor to see if you are going into closed loop. (do a search whereever to figure out what I'm talking about).
I wonder how mine would do if I ever let off the gas? Last tank, I made 5 passes at the quarter, played around on the street, reved her to 4K in normal drving, and still got 22mpg.

I'm getting good gas mileage how in the heck is that possible for the last three years or more I was getting 230-250 a tank of gas town/high mix. The other day I got 315 miles to the tank Last light I got gas and drove 215 mines and still had 3 1/2 gallons in the tank where I usualy had 1 1/2 gallon left. That is so dang weird since I haven't changed crap not even that EDIS I need to replace

I'm not trying to insult anyone here but I'v done this myself. I use to tramp down on the pedal to take off and go up hills and I noticed I was burning more gas going to my GFs. Last week I decided when I fueled up to be nice to the poor car and cruise more, and I got a few extra KMs since the week before. So to me it was Driving Habbits. Also I changed to Supreme Gas instead of regular a couple weeks ago and that actually made a difference too. I'm probally not helping but thats what worked for me
