Is it a *new* 96 4.6L motor or a *new* 3V 4.6L motor or a *new* 99+ 4.6L motor?

I really want a '96 actually...first year for mod motor and i love that body style....but i'd just have to put a newer DOHC 4.6 in it. Actually if i ever do put up the cash to buy one i'll probably just find an '03 Cobra parts car and swap everything over.

I actually want one as well... Id grab a 96-98 GT with a 5-speed, leather, CD and everything. Throw an exhaust, some wheels, springs and tint and call it a day! Be a nice daily for sure...

Actually ,I would think the 1979 -1984 Mustangs would be slower than a 4.6
96-98 wouldn`t they ?

He said he bought it for a Daily driver...the project car would be the`87lx

I`m not attacking your Saturn (to each his own) But personally I`d
rather Drive the slowest Mustang ever made than the fastest Saturn.

To mac'n89 if i wanted to go fast i would get in the fox and be right there near your best time(with a stock motor might I add) and on and 18 year old income.I have not updated latelly but my car only runs about 3 tenths slower than your car,on STREET TIRES,SPINNING BAD,and at a higher mph. 14.1 @ 99.6

AND

To poopdawg 35 mpg is GREAT but...... does it justify being seen in a saturn

By the way here is a pic of the car

No justification needed. I think it's a real nice looking daily driver...

I don't see why everyone nags on the 96-98 GT's so much. Sure they only have 215-225HP stock, but you fail to realize they are just a PI upgrade away from 265HP.

You can score a set of 99+ PI heads, cams and intake for pretty cheap these days. WIth the higher compression pistons of the 96-98, slapping them on an early 4.6L gets you about 265 flywheel HP. Toss on an aftermarket plenum, 75MM TB and a full exhaust and you can have 300HP at the flywheel. Given that you can get these cars cheap, you could prob have a pretty stout car for another 1500-2000 in mods

The 4.6 doesn't suck as much as you'd think
