i finally made up my mind, i am buying a mach1 motor to go in my 96GT!

i am buying an 04 mach1 5spd motor day after tomorrow night, it only has 1200 miles on it. it is complete from intake to oil pan and the guy is delivering it to me.

the only thing it is missing is the flywheel and clutch, what else do i need to do the swap?

should i tear it down and put forged pistons and rods in it before i put it in?

it is a 5 spd motor so it should have a 8 bolt forged crank in it already right?

will i still need to have the block machined?

what longtubes do you need for a 04 mach1?

which cc forged pistons and which ones to buy and which rods should i go with for a blower application? i will be putting my novi2000 on it in the future.

what else should i do to it before i put it in?

excited my ass, i am extatic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i wont be able to sleep worth a crap at night until it is running, and then after it is running i probably still wont be able to sleep at night as i will be driving this beast. i cant wait to get to drive this thing after everything is done.
 
i havent been to tv in awhile because i grenaded my rearend awhile back......so this tuesday the 4.10s, eaton diff and moser 31splines are going in!!!! And i will be at the track next thursday or friday! That is a dam good price on that motor....who did you get it from....i might be making a switch too. Oh and if you can afford it, by all means put the forged goodies in it, it will make one less thing to do down the road. How many miles are on your 2 v?

i will be putting forged internals in it, and i am getting it from a guy in dallas. my stock shortblock has 109k on it, and that was 109k of pure hell, i cant believe it lasted as long as it did.
 
Man that talk of blowers makes me want to get my S/C for my 66.I cant imagine it with a S/C, its already broke loose the 275 nittos at the 2-3rd shift at around 90MPH when we hit it going up the slightly turning hill the other night...and thats with 100% DIRECTLY locked rear axles on dry pavement,thanks to the mini spool.Wonder what it will do with the S/C?Anyways 10s are pretty hard to get, but that novi 2000 will probably get you there if its set up correctly.If you can get that engine for $2400, then I bet I can get that 04 cobra engine later on after the GT gets over 150K or so on it.BTW does anyone know where I can buy atleast a 4V block and maybe the heads...I may just forget the cobra and do the build up myself.I am not sure what I want though, probably wont go s/c on the GT so I can get good milage.Can anyone with a S/C'd 2 or 4V tell me what kind of milage they get?Trying to get all the info before I actually go to do the work.Thanks
