I have 2 Different O2 Sensors In. Is This Bad?

I installed an Off-Road H and broke one of my O2's, so one side has a new Bosch and the other has an old OEM. Is this a problem? I am getting check engine lights and a searching idle. My car won't spit codes, it always gives a "Cannot connect to computer" thing so I have to guess. I have cleaned my MAF and reset the computer and all that.

an old and a new O2 shouldn't be a problem.

the first thing to do is diagnose why your scanner can't connect to the computer.

have you tried a different scanner??

No, I have just tried the same one at my dad's car lot. It's a Snap-On I think...

make sure you're have about 5.0v at the Signal Return (GY/R)

make sure the right O2 sensor does not have a short to ground, i believe it would be the Gray/Light Blue.

if your dad has AllData or Mitchell take a look for the proceedures (in AllData it's under QA1)

What do you mean about the right sensor? A short?

according to AllData one possible cause of not being able to scan codes is a possible short to ground(wire touching ground when it shouldn't) in the rightside(passenger side) O2 sensor wire(Gray/Light Blue). it does something to the computer so the computer can't connect to a scanner. and since you had problems with the O2 sensors, i thought it might apply.
