I saw a decent deal for a 2003 Cobra, so I decided what the heck, and picked it up. It's a redfire coupe, with 3124 miles on the clock when I took posession of it. It's got some bling on the inside, aftermarket chrome 95 Cobra R replica wheels, and a missing gas door . And a K&N filter and Magnaflow cat-back, which would have been my first two mods anyway. Paid just under $24k.

So maybe I'll sell the 95 after all...

Damn, I better keep my mouth shut when I'm feeling a bit pissy, huh? I'll probably never hear the end of that comment now . Oh well, bring it on, I plan on buying my way deep into the 12's.

I didn't realize you had bought a GT? Or maybe I'm mixing up names (it's pretty early, and I only got 5 hours of sleep last night). If that's a recent thing, congrats! I seem to remember you talking about a 03 Cobra exhaust, right? Which means the GT now has IRS? Or am I just remembering wrong?

Anyway. Pics today if the weather holds. Everyone can see how I ripped off the bling bling fuel door. I tried to open it last night, it did not want to open, I pulled harder, it opened. Onto the ground in two pieces . I win!

Methinks I need to find a new fuel door, looks a bit redneck right now

Okay, so I'm behind the times. I probably had you mixed up with someone else in my mind, that's all.

Ha, ha, ha, veeeeeeeeeeeeeery funny.

Hey Ed, how 'bout I change my username to 03cherryvenom? Too bad I didn't fork over the cash for the screaming yellow 04, I told Keith I was going to change my username to 04yellowvenom.

hrm.... I cant think of a more expensive way to get those seats you wanted.

Im not sure if Im more jealous or worried for your pocket-book...

You gonna put all the suspension parts on the red car now?

$24 isnt bad... but Im going to remind you on a regular basis how little more $ a 01 Z06 would have been.

Recaro Speeds would have been cheaper, I suppose. I think the car payment will be easier on my pocket-book than what I was blowing on toys for the 95.

Only the front suspension is the same, everything I bought for the rear will not work with the IRS. And I don't need the Bilsteins because the Cobra comes with them stock. So basically the only parts that I can use on the Cobra is the coilover kit. I'm still debating what my plan is with regards to that.

Well, on eBay I have seen 01 Z06's for as low as $30k. Every locally advertised one is trying to get $40k. That's funny because the dealer I bought the Cobra from is a Chevy dealer, and they just sold a Millenium Yellow 2004 Z06 for $46k, brand new $10k off MSRP. I would have expected a bit more than $6k of depreciation in 3 years. (yes, I know there is a flaw in that logic. So?)

I couldn't get an LS1 anyway, that would be sacrilege .
