im pissed at ford right now, they totally ripped me off. I made an appointment last week for this morning to have a hesitation(feels like clogged injectors, but im no ford mechanic) problem diagnosed. THey called me back in a half hour so i went in and they said to replace the cap and rotor then they can "test" it again, and that it would be 260 dollars to have this done. This was 2 hours of labor plus 70 dollars for the cap and rotor. So F them, i took it to autozone and did it myself in 2 minutes for 19 dollars after paying them the 1 hour min. of $90 for doing nothing. I dont even think they ran the codes and if they did they came out fine because cap and rotor was his only suggestion. Obviously it didnt fix the problem, but im definately not bringing it back to them so they can charge me another 90 to say "we can replace your distributor for $800 then test it again." So now i turn to you stangnet. I need to fix this hesitation by the end of the month. Here are my symptoms when its happening:

(this is an intermittent problem by the way, mostly when cold or rainy, but happens at least once every time i drive rain or shine)

In neutral, i press the gas gently and it revs up slowly and sounds like its skipping some cylinders, almost like a lawn mower. OR i step on the gas and it does this until a popping noise comes from the intake then it "cleared out" and revs up fine, but then same problem again when the rpms go back down.

In any gear, i step on the gas at anything but full throttle and it loses power almost completely to the point that ive almost been rear-ended, then when i press it down to full throttle, same popping noise from intake once or twice then it takes off like a bat out of hell just about giving me whiplash, same ruitene in every gear. I cant even go up a hill without flooring it most of the time, but when it runs well, it runs really well.

The plugs and wires are new, new baro sensor, new tps, new EGR, new MAF, new coil.

I dont mind buying parts, but id like to know which parts would be most likely to cause this problem. Im wondering if its the injectors, distributor, or some sensor.

SOrry this post was so long, but those are the details and hopefully you have some insight.
Thanks!

Have you ran the codes? My guess though would be that stupid dizzy modual starting to go. But codes would be helpful.

If this where carburated it would be easy to say you getting too much fuel. EFI? Hell I dunno, lol.

Pull the codes, check your injectors for any damage, look at your plugs, and check your timing if it somehow is messed up that would do what you discribed also.

I would be shocked if your problem ended up having anything to do with the injectors themselves.

Pull codes, then start ruling out vac leaks before swapping the TFI.

Also... Take a good hard look at your plug wires and wire ends. If there is any corrosion on your wire ends, pull them apart and polish the terminal connectors. Check your charging system ground(s) and battery terminals as well. Clean up the ground for the EEC (whether it looks like it's needed or not).
