in my power steering pressure hose in my 89 GT. I'm waiting on the hose to come in this afternoon. I'm debating on doing myself or have one of the the guys in the shop do it. How hard is it to replace ...it looks like it would be easy to get to on the pump....but not sure on the rack side.

Thanks

The rack side is a PITA to get to. If you have patients you can to it.

The rack end can be a pita, as noted. Suggest jacking the car and looking at it.

Also, having tube wrenches for that end may help. You can pull the rack mounting bolts and try to get it out where there is more room. You may need to remove the other hose from the rack to access the second one.

I did one by cutting the old hose off close to the fitting and using a socket, but realize that has a point of no return issue.

I don't recommend this option, just because of the possibility of getting metal shavings in the rack.

The best advice for any job is to just take your time, short cuts are usually the long way.

Got it done!! It's not so bad if you can put it on a lift.
