The #5 spark plug was very very loose. This could definitally cause detonation correct? God dammit...

A loose spark plug wire will not cause detonation.

Think about it; pinging is basically caused by too much air and not enough fuel. How could a spark plug not firing cause this?

My PCV valve has not been changed since I have recevied this car, and the previous owner kept crappy care. Could this cause it?

Yargh...I've never heard of someone having a loose spark plug before. I guess that's why it didn't register.
