Got a quick question for you all. I'm acquired a 351 windsor from a friend who is selling all his parts for $ ( economy is killing him) As far as i know, its a 357 (.40 over) with 10.5:1 vanolia pistons, forged h-beam rods, a cut/lightened crank, Canfield aluminum heads ( i don't know c.c's) it has 2.02int/ 1.60exh valves. b-cam, old gt-40 tube intake upper and lower. 75mm tb, 77mm mass air, powerpipe, longtubes, 1.6 roller rockers. I was told it has to run 92 or higher octane fuel or it will ping at around 180 degrees+. The heads, intakes are out of box...not ported. I guess 2 ?'s 1st, how much power do you guys think it makes (it's only got around 1000miles) 2nd, Im interested in turbocharging the motor, but I know I would be greatly limited with the amount of boost I could run with 10.5:1 pistons and I want it to be pump gas. Is there any way to lower compression on this motor without replacing pistons? Can I change the heads. I might have a problem b/c I dont know what c.c the chambers are. I would like to get my compression to a boost friendly 8.5:1 9.1:1 tops! The cheapest way would be great, but I want to do it right too. Im a firm believer in doing and job once and right! The motor is fresh and that's why I dont want to break into it if I dont have to. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
