First off I am to the forum and it so far looks great.

Now to the fun stuff. I have a 1994 mustang that I have made into my project car. This winter is when the magic will happen but I need your help. I have got all the exterior parts (body kit, hood, rims, tires, headlights, taillights, vertical door kit) bought already. But I need some help when it comes to the engine, tranny and performance over all.

Here are my plans my neighbour has a friend who has a Ford 429 block that he is going to sell me. So I need some help picking out a good tranny and parts for the 429 to make some serious power. OR do i go a different route? With a 351? This is where i need some help. I am looking to have around the 550 to 600hp+. (and reliable and strong)

I need to do all the research I can so all and any help would be great.

Thanks for the help.

It all depends how much you wanna put into the car. If your talking about having that much power. You might wanna do the suspension as well. And look into your rearend and tranny

you WILL need a new rear and tranny with that kind of power...so add that to your list....we need to know what kind of budget your working with.

I would look into a 351, to make a 429 fit is going to cost more than its worth IMO. Stroke it then blow it or spray it

Thanks for the info so far. As far as a budget I would like to keep it below $20,000CND. From what research I have done so far I think that, 20,000 is going to go be enough.(or come really close) I thought about the tranny and suspension and I am going to replace the tranny for sure, but as far as suspension it crossed by mind because of the extra weight of a 429. But if I stay with a 351 do you still recommend replacing the suspension?

Thanks for the help and keep it coming.
