idle surge

whats the deal with idle surge, i gots it.
likes to dance around idle, but sometimes its fine.

its a stock GT with longtubes and exhuast.

any ideas

Replace or clean IAC motor, reset the PCM properly, then come back and let us know if it still does it.

does the idle surge when the a/c is on ( a/c is on in the two a/c positions and in the defrost and mix modes)

if it only does it in those modes then a low freeon charge can cause this. what happens is the a/c system short cycles and the pcm can not react fast enough to adjust the idle.

ughh, what is the iac and the pcm

IAC is the idle air controll valve on the front of your T/B and the pcm is your computer

did you try and see if it only happens when the a/c compressor is running?? very common for this to happen.

i tryed that
and it did surge when i reached in and turned the defrost on

hopefully thats it.

also make sure, ur not misfiring on any cylinders.. My idle was jumpin around as well, then i found out my 2nd cylinder was misfiring, and i fixed it, now the idle doest move.
