Ok, when i start my car it lags. I tested the battery and alternator awhile back and found out the alternator is bad. I already replaced the alternator and the battery is good. Yesterday i tried to start it and it would'nt start, turn key and nothing. Got a jump from a friend and after 3 turns it started up. It's really pissin me off cause it could leave me somewhere. What could it be, starter, ignition switch, plugs?

thanks

I would say that if you had to get a jump, the battery is on its way out. How did you test the battery? Just hook it up to a voltmeter or did you do a load test on it?

I don't know, i took it to a place and had it tested twice and it said it was good.
Whats the diff. between load testing and voltmeter?

A voltmeter will show the voltage, but if it has a bad cell it would not show up until you put a load on it. When I used to work at an auto parts place, the battery would show to have a full charge but once you place it on a load it would fail. Load testing is just as it states--putting a load on the battery.

Well i believe i found my problem. Did a load test on the battery and its a good battery, starter is good too. The problem is the battery isn't putting out enough cranking power, I need a bigger one. I'll replace it in a few days and see what happens.

A Optima red top battery should have more than enough cranking power!

The Ford Motorcraft spark plugs work the best on are cars.
They are made by Autolite I do belive. I am running the Autolite 764's
with no problems at all. They work perfectly.
