we first hooked the timing gun up to #1 spark plug wire and checked the timing, 10 deg. was on the opposite side it was supposed to be on. We put the timming light on all the other spark plug wires and got nothing close to where it was supposed to be. Sometimes it would be on the bottom but not anywhere near where it was supposed to be. What the hell is going on????

thanks

jeremy

Are you real sure you're reading the balancer correctly?

Look for signs that the elastomer on the balancer is bad and allowed the outer ring (what the timing marks are etched into) to slip.

Good luck.
