Normally I lurk in the 5.0 talk section, but this intrigued me. My dad took this pic of a window sticker for a Shelby GT500KR at McCafferty Ford in Langhorne, PA. The window stick says it is "NOT LEGAL FOR SALE" and "Not legal to operate on streets, roadways and highways" What gives?

how is it that its sitting on a dealer lot then? I'm guessing that it wont pass emissions and/or is lacking some of the safety stuff that is required on street legal cars.
whats the price on it? Does it have a price on it? The ones ive seen are in the 90's

But it has this sticker on the windshield: (soory, can't figure out pictures, just links.

My only theory is that the NOT LEGAL sticker is for when Ford sold it unfinished to Shelby ans Shelby put this one on the front:

The cheapest I saw was $74,000. But the dealer has had it awhile and I am willing to bet he would deal.
Strange decal.
Just saw a new Camaro. Had a price written on the windshield. Not sticker. A huge decal said to not sell with this decal in place, factory sticker must be on window or something to that effect.
Also written in hand was limited availability. The hand written price was $34,995. I have no idea what the sticker is but the sticker on it clearly said do not sell with this in place.
Strange.

The only one shown in the inventory at that dealer is only a gt500 not a KR. MSRP is $46520 and it's a 08 torch red.
I would be curious if this is the same vehicle.

The windshield sticker says KR. I can't read the other.

The reason why they say they are not legal for sale is because the place that built them shipped them to shelby without engines. It was in the Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords magazine.

Interesting! The ford web site only shows one. I did find another in jacksonville and the sticker also said Not Street Legal. Perhaps due to the power rateing.

They all have that sticker. It's because they have to go to Shelby and get finished.

They can't be sold until the conversion is done at Shelby. Once the conversion is done, they can be sold, titled, licensed, and street driven. No idea why they don't cover that up after the fact. I guess because they don't want to remove the window sticker.
