First Drive

This turned out to be a really interesting story. I was wondering what was going to happen. Hopefully, I can do the scenic Highway 1 drive in my mustang some day. Good thing you made it back OK, and can continue to learn about and enjoy your new mustang.

Sharp car, bummer about the over heating.
I have an extra 289, and engine/cam kit, if your thinking about an upgrade....

Yes, it was an interesting trip and thanks sooooo much to all for advising against hwy 1, that could've been much much worse!

I agree that this presents an opportunity to really get involved with some projects, whether it's upgrading the cooling system or pulling the heads, but I barely got to drive her first.

It was pretty sweet for the first 100 miles, though. To get back to the topic of this thread, the car handled very well (not many twisties, though). I kind of like the manual steering. It was actually my leg that got sore from the heavy clutch.

Anyway, I'm sure as I get to know my new Stang I will be asking lots of questions and posting quite a bit about what I find, both good and bad--like the thread I'm about to start regarding the rust holes I just found under both doors...

Thanks for the warm welcome into the :SNSign: community!
