It's his startup company, so it's small, but he's go all the right tools to get almost any job done, big or small.

any plans for painting the bar, or are you going to put the padded wraps on?

the nly thing i hate about bars is having to cut up the interior if you plan on putting al back in.
but it looks sweet.

The only thing I cut up was a little of the carpet and the rear of the back seat, Other than that, nothing else was touched.

I actually did paint the bar back and almost have all the interior back in. I'll try and get up the painted pics ASAP, I just need to download them from my cam.

It's from autoweldchassis.com

They're a good company, just not if you're in a hurry... it was estimated about 2-3 weeks, well, about 2-3 MONTHS later I got the bar. So don't order one if you're in a rush... other than that, their prices are fair and they do what you tell them. They also have many options on their website if you can find them (kind of a bad web design).

It's a 4 pt bar with a custom removable crossbar. If you line it up perfectly you would NOT have to change or do a seat delete but I didn't line it up perfectly. SO, The bottom seat fits fine, but the rear I have to cut holes in. My fiancee is reapolsering the seats with the hole so it should fit snug.

I thought removable cross bars (on the back not door bars) was not NHRA legal?
Is there an approved design out?

I would love to have a removable bar when I get a 4-6pt installed just to make the back seat useable...not that it really gets used much anyway but it would be nice.

Its not legal, but I know Justin Burcham ran a removable cross bar in his '05 for the entire season and nothing was said to him. I saw him at a track rental last year and noticed the bar. When I asked if anyone had ever said anything at all he said no, and it had been teched a ton of times. I'm more than likely putting one in mine.

cool then, I would really like to run one as well like that. GIR is kinda off/on about some stuff...I guess its better to have something then nothing at all. I have no plans for it to be a track only car and 98-99% will be on the street I really didnt want to make the backseat that much more non-user friendly for that 1-2%.

actually i don't at the moment, when I get the seat in (hopefully within the month) i'll get some good all around shots.

the bar is actually mounted quite perpendicularly with respect to the car, it's basically vertical and doesn't really flow at the same angle of the windows. So, that's a negative, but with the top and windows down, I think it looks pretty good.

so do I ... It's been months since I've had a backseat ... and years since anyone's say back there. I don't think anyone's ever going to now.

I think at a certain point you need a 6 point anyhow... this was pretty much to quell the chatter from the fiancee's mom. Also, if I ever get that fast and have a problem with tech, I'll get the extra side bars and weld in a solid crossbar.

After all is said and done, I see no point to a removable crossbar... at least one designed as poorly as mine. It scrapes the paint everytime it's in and out, so you have to touch it up, I just didn't really think all the plans throgh I think but still don't know how I could have designed a better one to describe over the phone.
