hello everyone,

Installed new edlebrock performer 5.0 heads, B303, 30lbs injectors and 75mm Pro meter. Combo is awesome!! I'm loving it!! Very streetable. I didn't notice that big of a loss of low end torque, of course it's pretty much useless below 1500rpm, but I expected that. Cruising in traffic not a problem. Outran a bragging kid in a Nissan 300Z twin turbo last night, he said the turbos were pushing 15psi each. Whats not to love!!

Just thought I'd share.

30lbs were cheaper. Everything I read said it didn't matter, and that the computer would only dump as much fuel as needed. Runs rich at idle, but I found a small vacuum leak b/t upper and lower intake. Haven't gotten a new gasket yet. Gas mileage is about 19 for a mixture of town/hwy driving.

good luck on those GT40Xs. I just dumped mine for $300 including the 1.7 Cobra Roller Rockers. Bought a crate motor from Downs Ford - 93-95 Cobra shortblock that comes with the GT40Xs - valve got stuck in the guide at just over 1000 miles and I actually restrained myself and gave it a proper break in. Even though there was no warrantee on the longblock I bought, I sent them the head and Joe Amato took care of it. Good customer service there. I'm getting rid of the heads because I'm tired of trying to get rid of the tapping issue and now the left side cylinder head is having issues. Motor has only 15,000 miles on it.
My AFR 165 competition heads which come with the beefier springs, further porting over regular 165s, 58cc chambers, and 7/16 stud upgrade will arrive in about 3 weeks. That and the new Lunati cam will push me over the 300 hp mark to the wheels. I cannot wait.
One thing I will say, when I didn't have any problems with the valvetrain on those GT40Xs, I was able to propel my 85 Notch with a stock suspension, drag radials, TKO tranny, and 3.73 gears into the high 12s and the carb still needed some fine tuning. I was pretty happy with that. Now I'm lookin for low low 12s with my new AFRs, a full slick and my new built 8.8 with 4.10s I haven't tried out yet.
