I installed the Supreme Performance axleback kit yesterday. I was told that this is the same kit offered by Ford Racing (the 50 state legal kit) and also comes on the Shelby GT-H. The body of the muffler itself looks like the stockers, so it's possible these guys made the mufflers for the regular Mustang as well.

The tips fill the bumper gaps so much better, it was worth the $$$ just to get rid of the wimpy 2.5" tips. Soundwise, it's a little louder than stock, but it has more of a growl to it at open throttle. I think it would sound really good with a high-flo midpipe to make it a little bit louder. I'm not complaining, it's my daily driver. No drone whatsoever.

I heard a sound clip of them on mustangexhaust.com and it was the meanest sounding mufflers I've heard yet on this car. Please go over and listen to it and tell us if they sound that way in person, I might be interested in them. It's in the 05+ sound clips section.

Honestly, it sounds similar in tone or whatever, but it's not that loud. That car to me sounds like it has an O/R h-pipe or something, because mine isn't nearly that loud. I saw that car in person, and it didn't sound nearly that loud.

I'm happy with the sound, but it isn't going to set off any car alarms.

Thanks

Well I've already got the offroad prochamber so the loudness would be there.

I just haven't heard an exhaust on this car yet that sounded that mean and throaty.

To me the sn197 has a smoother and tamer sounding exhaust note than the sn95 but that car there had a growl to it. Hmmmm..... interesting

sound clips please

Except for walking around the car at idle, I have only heard my Flows from inside the car. Not many GT's around my area that sound like they are running aftermarket systems for me to tell. I did hear one a few days ago that sounded pretty loud and sweet!!!!! It was lowered with wing, big chrome wheels and had Saleen graphics on the rocker panels, but was this a genuine Saleen or look-a-like?????? So my question is this. Is everybody on here talking about the exhaust sound while behind the wheel? The new Stangs have the mufflers placed much further back than the previous styles. That without a doubt makes it sound quieter...IMO.

To me, I can't even tell with the windows up that I changed the exhaust. With the windows down, I can tell a difference. It makes sense what you are saying, because the mufflers are placed so far behind the driver. I haven't heard it from the outside, other than having the door open and revving it up. LOL

I'm happy tho... now I need 4.10 gears and C&L intake.

The previous body syles have the mufflers sitting up under the back seat area. The S197s have them just beind the rear bumper AND it is further insulated from the cabin by the saddlebag shaped gas tank as well. So we have the exact sounding mufflers as before, but now the path the sound has to travel its way through to get to our ears inside the cabin has totaly changed. I'm sure that now with the tailpipes being several feet shorter, has to change the sound some from behind as well.

I still love the sound of my Flows and will hopefully more so when I get rid of the cats...be it by gutting or O/R H pipe.

When you installed these mufflers did the buttons on the intermediate pipe (the long pipe from the H pipe to the mufflers) line up with the U shape slots on the muffler pipes?

When I installed mine I could not get the passenger side button to line up correctly with the U Shape notch on the muffler inlet pipe. I even loosend the the clamps at the H pipe to get it to fit correctly. I am wondering if my passenger side mufflers inlet pipe is incorrect.

Mine took less than 15 minutes to install, and the button lined up fine.
