I'm installing an oil separator on my mustang. I bought the oil separator from home depot. On the separator, one side says "in" and the other is "out". What goes to the "in" side? The pcv valve side or the intake hose side or does it not matter?

Just put your finger on the vacuum, which ever direction the vacuum is heading should be out, I would assume its towards the upper intake.

In should be the line from the PCV valve. Out should be the line to the upper (just like Nick said).

You might want to remove the filter inside the separator (the filter can clog pretty easily).

I got one of those oil seperators from home depot also, I haven't installed it yet, but I took it apart and took out the bottom part and sealed it up with some RTV silicone. I heard after the oil starts to collect it will start to leak and drip oil.

This is how I connected the oil separator. From the "in" of the separator I connected it directly to the pcv valve. The "out" line I connected it to the vacuum tee where the old pcv hose used to be. Is this the correct way?
