Bought a new flywheel and I have to install the dowels over to the new flywheel, I know what holes the dowels go in and all that but whats the best way to put em in, from the bottom or top? I didnt want to get to rough with it before I asked. Thanks

put em on from the clutch side ( at least that's how i did it). make sure u use a dead blow hammer, so u dont dent or warp ur flywheel. good luck!

a modest amount of your favorite high heat sealant will help lube them up for a easy install and once cured will basically serve no purpose at all. hehe. Just helps them slide in a bit easier.

I have did this to a couple flywheels. I just use a hammer and tap them in. Once you get them started straight they will just hammer the rest of the way down in. The trick is getting them started straight.

They can only go in from the clutch side anyways. They have "bottoms" where the dowels will stop at so you can't stick them in from the engine side of the flywheel anyways.

Good Luck and be patient

As far as which hole line up the pressure plate hole with the threaded holes on the flywheel and put the dowels in the center unthreaded hole after removing the plate.

Also, when I did my Fidanza they specifically tell you to use permanent loc-tite in the dowel holes on the flywheel.

That probably isn't a bad idea...

Otherwise, when the pressure plate is tightened down it pushes against the flywheel dowel pins where it gets tapered down so unless your pressure plate backs out (bolts get loose) the flywheel dowel pins have no chance at all to come out. Mine have always been a very tight fit anyways
