Do you have to remove the distributor. Ive got the intake sitting in my closet and I almost want to try to do it myself. I have taken the upper off a number of times trying to fix leaks from the first time i took it off but i dont know what to do with the front part of the lower. Im not a mechanic but i just started taking stuff off and remembering where to put back on. Can some post a link with the step by step directions. Also,if anyone is here in south florida, close to Broward, if you feel like givin me a hand let me know. I could probally shot you some cash.

When I did my cobra swap I was able to "sneak" the stock lower without removing the dizzy it WAS a pain though. When it was time to drop in the cobra lower I removed the dizzy no need to make life harder. Ckeck out the 1st thread titled "94/95 FAQ section" they have a write up on how to swap out intakes good luck.

A tip about the dizzy for you.

Your job will be much easier if you remove it.

Before you do anything, get a fine tip sharpie and put a mark on the inside of the dizzy rotor housing next to the rotor so you can line it up after the intake install. Then put a mark down the side of the dizzy where it meets the block and extend that line on down to the block.

IMORTANT+++Don't move the crank while the dizzy is out.

After the install, just line all the marks up and no probs with getting things back just like they were.

Yeah, what they said.

You can do it without pulling the distributor, but it is a lot harder, especially trying to het the new intake on striaght without causing a leak. Mark the distributor an pull it out, it will be easier.

Marking the dist CAN NOT be stressed enough (if you remove it). I pulled mine (on my 93 Ford F350 - 7.5L) and didn't mark it. Didn't move anything (crank) and it took me 3 days just to get the thing set back in there right....

i cant see how you could reinstall with the dist still in place but you can sneak it out with it still in there. and definatly mark the dist like everyone said

lol the dizzy is the distributor. Intake swaps are a piece of cake. Even I can handle that. Just gotta make sure your gasket surface is good and the new gaskets are in place good and you put some form-a-gasket on the sides of the front and rear rubber gaskets other wise they leak. And remember your vacume line placements. I think thats about it

Since this is your first intake install, one more little tip for you.

Take out one of the lower intake bolts and buy you some all thread or cut the heads off of 4 bolts 2" longer than the stockers with the same thread size.

Just before your ready to put the lower back on, put 4 of the longer bolts/sections of all thread on each corner and use them to slide it down nice and straight.

No messed up gaskets.

Come on......Don't WUS out......You CAN do it......You know what they say

Stangs go faster if their owners work on em

I do understand about your dd concern.

Maybe you can find a gearhead bud to kinda hold your hand so to speak.

Working on your own Stang is a lot of fun...well...most of the time

SOmetimes the "easy" way is not really the "easy" way. Since Ive gotten good at removing the alternator, I just go ahead and do it when I change the VC's...Instead of trying to work it around. An extra 15 minutes to take it off and put it on REALLY pays off with less headaches.

Hey I go with the old KISS method

If everything is working and you ain't throwing any codes....................

transfer it over to the new lower

Gotta be some sort of temp do dad...it sits in the coolant flow

Don't get too technical ...Remember...KISS

Swap the intake and enjoy the new found power
