I am married with no tickets, 23 and have USAA. Our insurance for an 05 Scion TC and an 04 F250 is like $200/month.

I'm assuming the truck is the most expensive of the two to insure. I guess it all depends on the fine details of your plan and your cars. I know the deductible can make a big difference in the cost. I think mine is $500 or $1000, I can't really remember.

Also, location is a big deal. Maybe SoCal is a little more expensive than the DC area.

Actually, the car is more expensive to insure. Get this...it is considered a "sports Car." We have a $1000 deductible as well.

They have raised our rates the last 2 times we moved too.

I thought that insurance companies couldnt raise rates just based on your location...

Location has a lot to do with it. Typically it'd be cheaper to insure a car out in the country than it would in the city. In the city you're chances of an accident are going to rise because of the increased traffic and congestion. When I moved away from DC for school I registered the car out in the country and insurance was a little bit cheaper.

Also, if the car is garaged insurance is going to be cheaper than if it's parked on the street.

That's where the majority of the difference in cost comes....... location, if you moved I bet you would be paying a lot, lot less. I live in the Miami area and my insurance is way more expensive than when I lived in North Florida.

i'm through geico and 23 and with the 07 gt and an 08 v6 fusion I pay 166 a month...not sure what my break down is though, it was 205 with my 95 gt but i recently removed it since it's not running right now.

As far as v6 or gt delima...i'm very content with the gt...I drive 96 miles a day to work and average 27-29 mpg...my wife makes the same commute but alittle shorter and averages 24-25 in the fusion....but everybody has different driving styles.

I had a 2005 V6 and now have a 2007 GT. Gas mileage is very close to the same. Both suck in town (13 to 14) but I get about the same on the road -- 24 to 27 depending on speed, weather, etc. My insurance on the GT is only a few dollars more per year, less that $50. I am 55 with a perfect driving record. Check with your insurance agent.
Gas mileage is not an issue here, in my opinion. Insurance could be depending on your driving record. If you have a clean record, I doubt that there is much difference.

Stan, you must have a heavy foot, we are getting 21-22 in town in my GT. Personally GT is much more aggressive looking and I could not make a sixer look like a GT unless it could back it up. Side-by-side comaparison for you.
