Hi all, this is a little off topic,

I am keeping my mustang gt but was at dealership and they have a 2008 red expedition eb leather loaded for 39k...with incentives and loyalty incentives they will take off 6700!! with 0% financing...

Isn't this a sweet deal? I thought these vehicles went for well over 40k new.

I know they are lowering with the high gas prices but this seems like a steal to me..

So buy or no buy?

I personally wouldn't touch it, but that's me.
I know of a dealer who can't move his SUVs and large trucks with $10,000 off.
If you don't mind paying for the gas, go for it, but check other dealers' prices first.

I wouldnt..They are 40 cents to the dollar right now...As soon as you drive that off the lot it will be worth about $20,000

Banner Ford here in Louisiana on the Northshore has a F250 that has a sign on it that says 18,000 off. It's loaded out, but the sign says 18,000 off and that's before you go in and start negotiating. If you want an SUV, buy a 1 or 2 year old used one. My father is thinking about doing this and he can get a 1 year old tahoe w/ under 20k miles on it for easily half of the price of a brand new one. We have found a few for almost 65% off original sticker and that's only 1 year old!

100% correct....a friend of mine got an 07 eb expedition last year brand new sticker was 45k and he paid like 39k traded it in 5 months later due to gas prices (i told him so! ) and they gave him 19k had less than 4k miles on it.

A dealer near me has a 2007 Expedition EL Limited with everything on it labeled as a Demo. The truck has >18k miles on it, and the sticker is $57k, they have a sign on it that you can drive it off the lot today for $47k. I laughed.

I happen to know it was the owner's "Demo", but they can't move it now.

I work at a big NW Ford dealership, and after the factory and loyalty rebate, all of our remaining new 08 Expeditions are $10K to $11K off MSRP ($49K MSRP, $38K sale price).

However, we have used 07 Expedition 4x4 Eddie Bauers that we've been selling for $22K to $24K (depending on miles, equipment, and condition). That's a lot of depreciation for a one year old rig.

Last year, I bought my wife a loaded Mercury Mountaineer Premier AWD V8. Original new MSRP was over $40K. I bought it used with 30K miles for less than $19K. I will only buy used for a big ticket item like a truck or SUV now as the depreciation is crazy!

Buy an 07 I would never buy a new SUV or Truck. Heck I dont think I would ever buy a new car. Go for a 05-07.

That Ford dealer's demo price is one of the craziest things I have ever heard. Are people insane??
