Is a 80mm Maf worth the money

i am going to be getting a new C&l and a 75mm Tb, but am wondering if the 80mm Maf is worth the money to get it, will it help me out at all

02 and newer GTs come with a 85mm stock .

no they don't...
C&L SELLS an 85mm MAF but it's still 80mm stock.

Oh, and to answer the thread starter... I didn't notice any difference but I did run a 13.706 @ 100 with just the C&L 80mm MAF.
I guess it helped?

you wanna put money on that ? 85 mm with the IAT sensor built in , changed them in 2002 . FYI

Yep, 2002BLGT is right. In 2002 they chg'd to an 85mm unit. But it's restrictive as hell - just look at the screen inside the MAF. When moving lots of air, this is quite restrictive. My wife's 01 has, basically, just the 80mm MAF (plus a couple tricks and some steep gears) and it pulls like a monster!
On my 02, I swapped out everything, from filter to plenum. You should hear the sucking noise just above idle when you flick your toes on the loud pedal - awesome! Not a whistling noise like some people have reported they hear with the Dragon or C&L plenum. I'm very happy with the upgrades so far to both cars...no regrets and I ain't too proud to tell you if I was wrong or got taken...

C&L says Ford still uses 80mm.

1 of the threads has a poster who says the OPENING is 85mm but the most narrow part of the MAF is 80mm, so it's an 80mm MAF.

Oh, and I should note that C&L discourages the use of a CAI with their MAF, but I've heard some people say they have no problems with this setup.
And actually I'd rethink the purchase of the 75mm TB, unless your upgrading the plenum as well. The TB alone may make a 2-5 (at best) HP by itself at peak, but also, with the larger 75mm, you may lose some bottom end. If you plan to S/C it, then by all means, go with the 75mm. Otherwise, I'd buy the plenum before the TB (and a 70mm at that, again, unless you plan to S/C), preferrably both at the same time for maximum grins! Best of luck, and ENJOY!!!

Really? So a C&L MAF is good for the money? I plan on doing something like this with some other mods when I get the cash. Probably get the C&L inlet pipe too.

I highly recommend both the C&L MAF and their Trueflow pipe. Nice, quality stuff. If you don't have an aftermarket plenum, I highly recommend that as well - my Accufab 70mm TB and plenum rock! Check my engine pic in the 99+ members gallery.
