Yep, 3.31's. At the height of my gas mileage, I was getting around 23-24 city. I'm now usually around 21-22. Most of my city driving is 30mph zones, running around 35-37mph. I typically only "get on it" once or twice a day. When I don't, I'll see the 23 or 24. I get 32-34 on the way to the track. Actually, I can go to the track, take 4-5 passes, come home, and have averaged about 18-20mpg! When I'm not "getting on it", I drive pretty conservatively. 4th gear cruising above 30 helps a lot.
I get about 21-22 in city too, and about 29-32 on highway. I also have a lot of 45mph zones so I try to be in 5th gear doing about 50mph. I usually do about 80-85 90 sometimes on the highway, with original gears!!! I bet i would get around 32-35 on the highway if I stayed at 70-75 but I don't like seeing people passing me.
Stock has too many restrictions. Intake, tune, and off road pipe help greatly in mileage, along with UDPs.
My city driving is usually around 35-37mph (30 zone) and highway I'm referring to is 45-60, with a few drops to 30 for a moment. Interstate I see 25-29.
They have 3.31s and drive really slowly on the highway (55-60 MPH).
I started driving 5 MPH below the speed limit on the highway and saw a jump of about 1-1.5 MPG. I'm tempted to drive 10 MPH below the limit to see how much better MPGs I can get. The freeways are 70 MPH zones around here but I find that 18-wheelers will try to go WOT in the LEFTMOST lane to pass me because I'm driving too slowly.
i don't think the problems in your stang, its with your right foot. haha.
i noticed after i controlled my right foot, i started seeing alot better mileage. with the 4.10s i don't have to give really any gas leaving stop lights to still pass little kia rios who are WOT. haha.
i'm averaging 18 or so mixed right now. thats with the occasional 10 mile trip on the highway, with the more then occasional running through the gears. i've only driven on the highway every so often, maybe once a week. and its never long trips. always doing 65 in the slow lane.
