Engine Is this act sensor ok?

Picked up this walker act sensor. It looks a little different than my stock one and the thread is longer. Is there any reason I shouldn’t use this one and return it or will it work fine? Also is the wire supposed to be to the side like that? My stock one was like that and so is this one.

Yup. It’s 3/8” NPT which is a tapered thread. That’s typically what the thread should look like. The OE sensor actually has the non-standard appearance.

The little nub sticking out is the thermistor which measures the air temp. It sticks out into the airflow. If you want you can nudge it back into the “cage” for a bit of protection but it doesn’t matter it’s fine as is. If you have objects traveling past the act that the thermistor needs protection, you have other problems.

Ohm test it first,I had a bad one new out the box.
