So I stopped by the shop today to see what it's going to cost to get my oil pan gasket replaced since it's leaking and I know it's done for. Here's the estimate he gave me. Does this sound right?

Oil Pan - $119.98
New Gasket - $46
Oil Change - $25
Dye - $6
Labor - $281

Total - $477.98

that sounds about right thats actually cheap from what I have heard it costs

I had a coworker that had the same thing done to his ford explorer and it cost him 800 dollars but if you look at it its actually easier to do it on his explorer than the mustang

Yeah, they said their gonna have to jack the engine up a bit to remove it since it's shape around the k member and tie rods.

sounds reasonable but the gasket price is way high and you don't need dye. You don't need a new pan either. They should remove the pick up and clean it out while its apart. Might as well put a new melling pump in too.

Unless the oil pan has been damaged... I wouldn't replace the pan itself. The price for the gasket is a little high. Labor seems reasonable, since our pans have an odder shape to them which requires some playing with in order to get it out of the way of the K-member.

Good Luck!

I think the $119 is for the pan itself and the removal plus install. The printout says the parts list is from alldata, Tried looking up parts but I guess you can't unless your an auto shop.
