Just picked up a customer car for a full rotisserie resto/restomod job. 1968 fastback, original owner, San Jose build, spent the first half of its life in SoCal and the second half in Phoenix, AZ. It's the most solid, rust-free Mustang I've ever seen -- there aren't even any floor jack dents underneath. It'll practically build itself!

Anyway, it'll be a nice build. The goal is to appear bone stock (except for wheels and stance) and ride/handle like a BMW. I'll have all of the details up on the site soon, but here's the gist: RRS struts, Cobra IRS, 5.0L EFI, power R&P, power big brakes, T-5, Fuel Safe, custom upholstery, A/C, power windows & door locks, etc. I'm going to put a ton of effort into thermal and vibration/noise reduction.

I like the exhaust crossover

Very nice car, how old is the owner (considering the car is almost 40 now)?

Also, gonna be hard to put all that into her and make it look stock, at least to an afficianado.

This is proof that they are still out there.

My personal opinion would be to keep everything original and change only things that can be brought back to original.

The owners are in their 80s, but the car has been passed along through their children and grandchildren over the years. There were actually family members from 3 generations (including the original purchasers) present when I picked the car up, which was really neat. Once it's done it'll be for the whole family to share and enjoy.

As far as looking stock goes, that's from the exterior only. Anyone who knows Mustangs will notice all kinds of stuff.

That's basically the plan. Cobra IRS=bolt in. RRS=bolt in. GT40 crate engine, and so on. There will be some extra structure welded in though.

My 69 undercarriage was that clean. Lifetime central valler car. My 77 Maverick was even cleaner. San Jose original owner car that was garage kept for all 31,000 of it's miles. I love dry climate cars.

My 70 coupe has been all over California and who knows where else. I picked it up in Fresno and discovered that it had rats in the trunk amnit: . But I aint complaing since it had a brand new engine, almost new seats and carpet. The car was in excelent condition and I have replaced about $1,500 in new parts + a brand new paint job for about $1,800 which is actually worth $2,500. The best thing is that the owner sold the car to me for $3,800 . Pictures of my car will be uploaded soon.

I enjoy seeing original undersides of cars that have never been cleaned.

here is a clean underside. car has never sat outside overnight and as you can tell barely driven in the rain. It is the cover car for John's Mustang Summer 2005 catalog.

the car was almost perfect on the interior when I got it but I still completely detailed it. Have not taken any photos since redoing it. Maybe I will get around to taking some this weekend.

here are a few recently taken ones of my 390 CS with the last shot of my 69 Grande wet weather car (I love the dog dish hubcaps). The 390 CS is going into the Autorama show in Houston next week.

Wow Reen- that fastback is a mess, you really should talk them into selling it to a broke, destitute soul who would love that car back to original condition, some one like, oh, ME

I've only seen one completely stock 1 owner car, and that was a 1957 Fairlane 500 tudor. The guy driving it has lived in Sacramento his entire life and still drives the car to the store and back, all of 2 miles a week. Amazingly beautiful cars when you can find them in that kind of condition.
