no, just advance the timing and get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. i had a chip on my car when i bought it and than i put 1.7 rockers on it and a cobra intake and it was almost like my timing kept changing (sometimes it would ping and sometimes it wouldnt). i took the chip out to see if that would help and the car ran 10 times better

I also heard some bad stuff about them too. When i worked at Ford by me a mustang came in because it wouldnt idle and you have to give it gas to keep it running, it was just loading up with fuel. The first thing we did was look for a chip and as we knew it had a JET chip in it. We took it out and it ran awesome.

I had a jet chip... its dumb. The equivalent would be to twist the dizzy with a timing light, and timing lights are cheaper then Jet Chips.

If you want to play with your computer, buy a tweecer or a PMS. More money but youll never pay for a tune up again.

In terms of buying an AFPR, isnt that just a short term fix as the ECU will eventually adjust back to 39PSI? I know this happens a lot with guys that get dyno tunes with afprs and it runs mint for a while but slowly and surely their computer re-adjusts back to 39psi and their tune is crap.

The computer has no way to adjust the fuel pressure. What it will do is adjust the injector pulse width for part throttle conditions. That can lean or or richen the mixture according to the data provided by the O2 sensors. At full throttle, the computer uses RPM, Air Flow, Air Temp, Coolant Temp and TPS to calculate injector pulse.
